Let me first of all welcome new readers. It’s lovely to have you here! Thanks for joining us.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks since I’ve sent a letter, so my apologies. As you know, I’ve been catching up with things since I went to the UK. The good news is that the Hunters book is well underway, and things are happening, and that’s all I can say there - no spoilers in case you haven’t read all the Hunters series.
I’ve got a few things to share today that I’m very excited about. I have added some new merchandise to my shop that I hope you’ll love. Designing merch is my next favourite thing to do after writing. I have made a couple of new notebooks — one’s a Whitehaven Witches A5 notebook and one is a Moonfell Witches A5 notebook. I am intending to add some more featuring the other series, because the notebooks, like my seasonal witch notebooks, are quite popular, which is lovely. I think ones featuring Charming Balms Apothecary will be fun, too! I’m also going to add some phone cases and hats, but that’s the fun stuff that I do when I’m not writing, because writing is obviously always the priority.
So a bit of an update about audiobooks. I’ve heard from Di Croft who narrates my books. Gilded Moon is now finished, which is exciting news, and it’s with her proof listener and hopefully will be with me by next week. And she’s also said that hopefully she’s going to be able to get to narrating Blood, Feather, and Bone within the next few weeks as well. So that will be great! You can buy the book now, in all formats - eBook, paperback, and hardback.
My plans for the end of this year is that I will be writing another Moonfell Witches book which is going to be set around Mabon, and then there will be a White Haven Witches book which will be out early next year. Well, I say early — February, March — so we’ll see how that goes. I mentioned in my previous post that I was planning to write about Helena, and I’m really pleased that some of you commented very positively about that. Thank you! Don’t hold me to it, but fingers crossed it will happen.
I’ve actually got quite a lot of things lined up in the next few months, which is going to really eat into my writing time, but I’m determined that I’m going to get it all done anyway. One way of tackling this is using dictation, which I’m playing around with now. Part of this letter was written using dictation, that I then had to edit of course, but it saves so much time!
We’re really excited because in September we’re going to the Grand Prix in Madrid at the new Madring circuit. Hearing bits about that is slightly worrying, because it doesn’t sound like it’s completely finished yet, but I’m sure it will be by the time the Grand Prix starts...let’s hope. Then my mom, stepdad, and sister are coming over to visit and they’ll be here for a few days. Friends from New Zealand will be in Seville, so we’re going to spend just a couple of nights over there, so that will be very end of September, early October. And then I have another writer’s retreat going on, and that’s the third week in October, and will be just outside Alicante. However, that’s more of an informal gathering, and hopefully I should be able to get some writing done while I’m there, right? That is the point of it. It’s not just about learning from each other, although there’ll be a lot of that. We’ll see how that goes. I’m not that great at writing while I’m away. I find I get very distracted by my surroundings. So, a busy but fun few weeks.
And I may have just bought tickets to see Duran Duran in Lisbon... I don’t care that I’m busy. I’m excited!

I am going to continue to add more blog posts to happenstancebooks.com, my shop, because I really want to expand my website with useful and interesting articles. I enjoy adding what I’m up to, articles about lunations, and also the seasonal celebrations which of course I also add to my Substack — some of which are for paid subscribers — and the same goes for my Ream subscribers. Some posts will be variations on those, and will be shorter so that paid subscribers continue to get value for money. It’s the new moon and solar eclipse in Leo next week, so I’ll be sharing information on that here.
Plus, seeing as I have just released the fourth Storm Moon Shifters book, I’m going to write about why I decided to write a series about shifters. That’s coming soon.
As far as products go, I’ve added new bundles to my shop. You can buy my two Christmas novellas that are now linked with the seasonal winter witch’s notebook, and I’ve got a lot more signed books that I’m going to be adding this weekend.
Plus, I finally got around to adding a mini-merch pack that’s got half a dozen postcards in, some stickers, bookmarks, and badges, and as I continue to add to those, I will vary the packs. The first one is on sale now, and it has free shipping, just like my signed books. It’s easy to build that into the price when I post from Portugal.
So that’s it from me this week, and I’ll be in touch again soon. I’ll share two more chapters on my latest book this afternoon in a separate post for paid subscribers.
Have a great weekend.
TJ xx
