What is Litha?
Litha, also known as Midsummer or the Summer Solstice, is a pagan festival celebrating the longest day of the year.
It typically occurs around June 20th to 22nd in the northern hemisphere. This festival is a celebration of the peak of the sun’s power, and is bursting with life force, abundance, and transformational energy. It is one of the eight sabbats in the Wheel of the Year in modern Pagan and Wiccan traditions.
I love these long, hot days.
Solar Deities:
Ra (Egyptian): The sun god who is at his peak power during the summer solstice.
Helios (Greek): The personification of the sun, driving his chariot across the sky.
Lugh (Celtic): A god associated with light and the sun, often celebrated during this time.
