This guide is part of my series on the seasonal celebrations across the year, and is for paid subscribers. Today I’m sharing information on solar deities, symbols, suggestions for your altar, crystals, colours, a ritual you might enjoy, a tarot spread, and a simple recipe. What is Litha?

Litha, also known as Midsummer or the Summer Solstice, is a pagan festival celebrating the longest day of the year.

It typically occurs around June 20th to 22nd in the northern hemisphere. It is one of the eight sabbats in the Wheel of the Year in modern Pagan and Wiccan traditions.

Solar Deities:

Ra (Egyptian): The sun god who is at his peak power during the summer solstice.

Helios (Greek): The personification of the sun, driving his chariot across the sky.

Lugh (Celtic): A god associated with light and the sun, often celebrated during this time.
