This is another post in my Seasonal Celebrations series found in Seasons of the Witch. I hope you find it interesting, inspirational, and useful.

Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox, the time when daylight is equally balanced with darkness, and the second harvest festival that’s traditionally associated with gratitude and the preparation for winter. It occurs between the 20th and 24th September. From this point onwards, the nights grow longer as we descend into the dark half of the year. I light candles all year round, but by October we’ll be lighting the fire, and the house starts to become very cosy.

I’m sharing a brief overview of the origins and mythology of Mabon, the significance of pomegranates, plus colours, symbols, a ritual, and tarot spread.
